Birds Nest ferns (Asplenium australasicum) are a popular, hardy fern native to Australia, occurring naturally on the east coast, especially the tropics. This is due to their love of humid, rainforest climates and dislike of anything more than mild frost. They are commonly used in the garden underneath large trees, in rockeries, brightly lit indoor positions, but also on larger trees themselves due to their epiphytic qualities.
